About Mountain Massage & Day Spa
Mountain Massage & Day Spa is located in downtown Fairhope and is owned and
operated by Nikki Jones, LMT #2671. A full range of massage and spa services
are offered in a tranquil surrounding.
An increasing number of research studies show massage reduces stress, lowers
blood pressure, increases blood circulation and lymph flow, relaxes muscles,
improves range of motion, and increases endorphins (enhancing medical
treatment). Although therapeutic massage does not increase muscle strength, it
can stimulate weak, inactive muscles and, thus, partially compensate for the
lack of exercise and inactivity resulting from illness or injury. It also can
hasten and lead to a more complete recovery from exercise or injury.
Research has verified that:
Office workers massaged regularly were more alert, performed better and were
less stressed than those who weren't massaged. Massage therapy decreased the
effects of anxiety, tension, depression, pain, and itching in burn patients.
Abdominal surgery patients recovered more quickly after massage. Premature
infants who were massaged gained more weight and fared better than those who
were not. Autistic children showed less erratic behavior after massage therapy.
According to the AMTA, massage helps both physically and mentally.
It is our mission to provide the highest level of therapeutic care in Fairhope
and the surrounding areas. Our quiet and tranquil setting is perfect to escape
the daily grind of life while relaxing and rejuvenating the body and mind. We
offer our clients friendly and compassionate experience at our Day Spa. Our
knowledgeable therapists help their clients work through physical, mental, and
emotional stress along with injury and recovery. We teach them how to use self
care to facilitate a better quality of life. Each client is unique and
deserves their own individual experience. You are in great hands with us!

I have five years experience working in Crested Butte Colorado at the Mountain
Resort, and three years experience working and managing Harmel's Ranch Resort
Spa.
I specialize in transformational neuromuscular massage which is a technique
that pins the muscle then stretches and contracts the muscles origin and
insertion. This technique is used to reset chronic muscle patterns, relieve
tension and reduce pain. I also practice various deep tissue massage
techniques, pre and post natal massage, sports massage, infant massage, and
geriatric massage as well as basic reflexology.
I am proud to announce the addition of Thai Yoga Massage to Mountain Massage.
Also know as assisted yoga, this technique involves breath work through a
sequence of stretching and releasing of both the mind (mental) and body
(physical). Opening up joints, muscle fibers, meridians, and chakras. Bringing
a full body balance.
My main focus is on reducing stress. I also focus on increasing circulation and
lymph, relieving tension and pain which lead to a greater well being. I also
enjoy doing spa work as I believe it is important to take excellent care of
both the external body (integumentary system/skin) and internal body
(organs/musculo-skeletal system). Spa treatments release toxins, nourish and
replenish the skin. A greater quality of life begins with total mind, body, and
spirit harmony.

I received my massage license after completing a 650 hour program at Alabama Healing
Arts in Mobile, Alabama. Since graduating massage school, I have received
certifications in pre/post natal massage, Thai massage and assisted stretching. I
specialize in deep tissue massage, neuromuscular therapy, trigger point therapy,

She attained her degree in massage and bodywork therapy at the Everest University of
Central Florida. Massage Therapy has given her the ability to practice around the United
States in a variety of business settings. Tessa has experienced working in a variety of
settings, as well as large outdoor events, and medical wellness teams. She has
specialized training in postpartum, labor, and prenatal massage, Thai bodywork, as well
as energetic relaxation therapy (Reiki/Chakra Balancing). Aside from having a passion
for massage, Tessa practices the culinary arts, yoga, and in her spare time, enjoys
hiking, decorating, and music.
"My philosophy encompasses a vision of a well-rounded treatment plan that relies heavily
on open communication of what the client's goals are, and how we can achieve this during
the session. When practiced regularly, therapeutic massage and self-care can provide the
perfect combination for overall health and wellness. I believe we can have a more
fulfilling life if the intention begins with setting small, realistic goals for ourselves
in order to get there."
